Concept: Fantastical spell-casters meet retro gaming technology.
Written treatment
Enchanters, cosmic forms, and gilded type fuse with mechanical structures to make a machine of wizardry for your entertainment. Glowing lights flicker with power. An orb of sorcery traverses through the device. Its outcome depends on your skill. Do you dare to take on this gauntlet of magics?
The deliverables were 30 second looping animations to be projected on the side of various buildings for the Digital Graffiti showcase in Alys Beach, Florida. The devices would be explored as landscapes, creating a theme based on the printed ads and mysterious but playful tones that they convey.

My palette was derived from a Nike shoe model. I wanted to keep the colors ties to the brand and felt that drawing from existing products was a safe choice.

These type choices fit each of the themes I was going for in my concept and worked well as 3-dimensional details for the machinery.

Another issue that I had to solve was the inclusion of typography within my animations. The solution was to use some elements as decorations for the pinball machine, while others were blended as 2 dimensional elements on top of the machine renders as focus points for the designs.

Notes on the process
The challenges that I faced were being able to produce enough variations of simulations for the pinball as it moved through the machine. The process involved meticulous key-framing before, during, and after the ball collided with different components.
